Specialization or Focus Areas: Dr Ulrike Wurth graduated in 1972 from Melbourne University, working in mixed practice and research before establishing the Highton Veterinary Clinic in Geelong in 1979, which she continued to run until 2010. In 1986 She graduated with a Diploma in Human Acupuncture and in 1991 became one of the first veterinarians certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) in Australia.
Since that time she has treated animals successfully with acupuncture at the Highton Veterinary Clinic and more recently at Torquay Animal House Veterinary Clinic. She currently works part-time at the Geelong Animal Emergency Centre at 102 Fyans Street, South Geelong where she treats patients with Acupuncture and Chinese herbs. In addition Ulrike teaches the Australian IVAS Course to other veterinarians from Australia and Asia Pacific and is currently the executive Director of the Australian College of Veterinary Acupuncture, coordinating their online education program.
