Welcome to Acu in Practice! Arthritis is something we see a lot of in our patients (and ourselves!). There is no one thing that will fix arthritis - but the best management is always multi-modal (and includes acupuncture if I’m being honest, and not at all biased 😏) Charlie came to his first appointment needing to be brought in on a gurney. His arthritis was so progressed, the effort and pain to walk just wasn’t worth it for him. While his pattern was layered, it obvious that clearing stagnation (ie, pain) was a priority. I placed needles along the bladder meridian, and many additionally for inflammation. BUT, some of the heavy hitters for Charlie were ST 36, and the combo of LI4 with LV3 (or the Four Gates).About 6 treatments in, Charlie walked himself in to his appointment. And when I tell you his mom was beaming, and literally the whole clinic started cheering like a cheesy Hallmark movie, I’m not exaggerating.
