Dr. Henneman is a 1986 graduate from the Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine and did an equine internship in Ireland after graduation. She holds certifications in veterinary acupuncture (IVAS 1990, certificate #162), veterinary chiropractic (AVCA 1992, certificate #21) and Chinese Herbal Medicine (IVAS 2000). She became the 12th Fellow of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture in 2008, and in 2014, became the first (and currently only) veterinarian to achieve Board-certified Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation in both Canine & Equine species.Dr. Henneman has also accompanied the USET Endurance Team to National Championships, World Championships (in Dubai) and the WEG (World Equestrian Games) in Spain. Dr. Henneman’s practice is 50% performance equine and 50% companion animal and ranges from the Western US to Hawaii, Alaska and Eastern states in New England. Her practice exclusively involves the use of integrative therapies & thermal imaging in sports medicine, rehabilitation, life-start and chronic disease management. She works on equine athletes of all disciplines and ages. She also works on canine athletes doing agility, obedience, sheepherding, SAR (urban, wildland and avalanche), police/patrol/detection (IGP, Mondio, French Ring), hiking and running with their folks, as well as racing sled dogs of all levels. She has been an 11-year trail veteran of the Iditarod sled dog race and worked the 1200 km Norwegian Finnmarksløpet sled dog race in 2024. Her practice is the on-site canine caregiver for the third largest, international sheepdog trials in the US (Soldier Hollow Invitational).Dr. Henneman is a popular international and national instructor having presented at conferences in Western Europe, Canada, Scandinavia, China, the UK, and all over the US. Dr. Henneman has also spoken at several veterinary schools and is currently on the Dean's advisory committee for the new 4 year veterinary program at her alma mater, Utah State University. She has contributed to several text-books, including the recent Canine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation (ed. Chris Zink & Jan Van Dyke) and Veterinary Clinics of North America Equine: Poor Performance (ed.
