Healthy Food or Herbal Medicine? - A Simple Approach to Use Food from The Shelf to Improve Your Patients’ Well-Being

 Wednesday, January 25, 2023
Starting at 12:00 pm (Central Standard Time)

Presented by Katja Görts, DVM, CVA, CVC, CVCH, CVWHM

This 2 hour webinar will provide information on how to use whole foods almost everyone has on their shelf or can easily get in the supermarket or drugstore to improve their dog’s or horse’s health. We will learn how to supplement your patients’ everyday food with these ‘foodal herbs’ and how they can be used for several conditions, what their TCVM energetics are, and what pharmacological and clinical evidence supports their use.

We will have a look at several products from grains and seeds over fruit and vegetables to spices and herbs and how to integrate them to the regular diet or use them as a healthy snack.

About the Presenter

Katja Görts decided to become a veterinarian – either that or a farmer – at the age of four. Consequently, she went to Veterinary school in Hannover, Germany where she graduated from in 1999. She made first contact with holistic veterinary medicine during her first years in Veterinary school and fostered that interest even during the almost 10 years she worked in the pharmaceutical industry in various medical positions. Also, encouraged by some of her professors, she already started teaching undergraduate veterinary and biology students while still studying herself.
