Advanced Equine Hands-on Seminar
Come join IVAS in sunny Corpus Christi, Texas, for a hands-on advanced equine seminar on Saturday, May 4, 2024, presented by Rick Schafer, DVM, CVA. This one-day event will focus on some common and not so commonly seen cases in equine practice.
You can expect 6-10 horses to be diagnosed and treated with your participation during this daylong event. Just a few of the items to be covered will be to use of acupuncture points to accomplish some chiropractic adjustments utilizing myofascial kinetic lines. Identification and treatment of Dai Mai blockages, myofascial trigger points, and toxic scars.

Dr. Rick Schafer graduated from Texas A & M University Veterinary Program. He was awarded the Small Animal Veterinarian of the year by the state of Texas in 1989. He was certified in Acupuncture by IVAS in 1994 and was the US IVAS Course Coordinator for over 25 years. He has been actively involved with IVAS and served on the IVAS Board of Directors as the Treasurer for over 6 years. He is the Owner of All Creatures Acupuncture, where he treats horses in Texas, Colorado, and Indiana, and one of the veterinarians for the Texas State Aquarium.
