If you’re an equine acu vet…you are very familiar with the DNAP and probably use it on a daily basis. This important tool provides a noninvasive way to assess pain and other imbalance in our equine friends. Here’s what our colleague Dr. Megan Wickersham, an integrative equine vet certified through IVAS, has to say: “The equine diagnostic acupuncture palpation (DNAP) exam is a diagnostic aid to locate pain and structural disease. We know that the evaluation of a patient from a TCVM standpoint involves all of our senses. A detailed history, visual exam, listening and palpation of pulse and the body help us to identify “the thread that binds the whole”.
