Presented by Micki McCabe, DVM, DACVIM, CVA, ACVCHM, FAAVA

Cannabis has garnered tremendous interest for its medicinal qualities over the past several years. Due to its legal status, history, and regulation of products, it continues to be surrounded with a controversy on how to discuss its use with clients and consider safely implementing the herb in treatment for our veterinary patients.

This 2 hour Webinar will help to explain the endocannabinoid system of the body, how phytocannabinoids fit into that. We will also explore cannabis, its history, present-day legal status (at least in the US). Guidelines will be presented on how to evaluate products that are on the market. We will also discuss definitions of hemp vs. marijuana products, legally speaking and how to navigate this very complicated but interesting subject.

The objectives of this 2 hour webinar will provide information on how to:

  • Become more fluent in the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and the effect of phytocannabinoids on the ECS
  • Understand the legal status of various forms of cannabis, and how to navigate this intricate system.
